Curious about people.
Fascinated by science and drawn to making things more inclusive.
Hi, I’m Diya. I’m drawn to questions that don’t fit neatly inside one subject—questions about science and medicine, but also about who is represented, whose experiences are considered, and how the systems around us can work better.
That curiosity has taken me from studying representation in clinical trials and gender bias to building a mentorship program, teaching financial literacy, and working with children with disabilities.
I enjoy understanding problems deeply, but even more, finding ways to turn what I learn into something useful for someone else.

Question assumptions. Look beneath the surface.
I’m naturally drawn to “why”—whether I’m examining biological differences, research methodology, gender bias, or the forces behind global decisions.
Listen closely. Pay attention to what may be overlooked.
I’ve learned that understanding a problem starts with listening—to people, experiences, and perspectives that might otherwise go unheard.
Turn observations into action.
When I see a gap, I like finding a way to create something useful—whether that means a mentorship program, a curriculum, a research question, or a new opportunity for someone else.

Global Perspectives
I’m fascinated by what happens beneath the surface—from cells and genes to the brain—and by how research can improve the way we understand and care for people.
I’m interested in how gender, representation, access, and identity shape research, healthcare, and the opportunities people experience.
Model UN has made me curious about how history, culture, economics, and policy influence the decisions countries and communities make.

Beyond Work
Outside research and school, I spend much of my time dancing, volunteering, exploring the interests I love, and finding ways to connect with people and communities.
Looking Ahead
Bharatanatyam
I’ve practiced Bharatanatyam since kindergarten. Dance has taught me discipline, expression, and how to keep moving when things don’t go as planned.Formula 1
Race weekends have long meant watching Formula 1 with my dad, debating drivers, strategy, tires, and every possibility in between. That interest also sparked some of my earliest questions about gender and expectations.Horses & Service
Horses have always been one of the places where I feel most at ease. Through Equine Assisted Therapy, that connection grew into service—helping children build confidence and independence while teaching me the importance of listening and trust.Photography
Photography makes me slow down and notice details, expressions, and moments that might otherwise pass quickly.I’m drawn to medicine, research, and the questions that connect science with the human experience. As I continue learning, I hope to explore how research can improve care, address disparities, and help build systems that work better for more people.
I don’t expect every question I have today to lead where I think it will—and that’s part of what excites me.
